Jeanie Marie Buss was born in the United States. She is the owner and president of the Los Angeles Lakers National Basketball Association. Buss is the daughter of a California native, and was raised by a well-off family. Her father Jerry Buss was a real-estate tycoon, who was later the owner of the Lakers and other businesses related to sports. Her parents parted ways in 1972 and she began to feel emotionally left behind. In 1972, at age 19, she was employed within the family's company. She founded later the Los Angeles Blades, a professional team of roller hockey. She held the position of President of Great Western Forum prior to becoming vice-president for the Lakers. Buss inherited the Lakers by her dad in 2013. Her five siblings were the inheritors through a family trust. Buss was elected in 2013 to take control for the Los Angeles Lakers. Buss is also a co-owner of Women of Wrestling a pro-wrestling organization based within Los Angeles.
