April Ross
April Ross, a beach volleyball star from the United States She is one of a small group of women who have won medals in multiple Olympics. Alix-Klineman will compete with Ross at Tokyo for her third gold in the next couple of days. Ross hopes to win more than her initial Olympic medal. Since she's 39 years old, it may be her last chance. Nevertheless she is confident that top honors are firmly within reach. If we play our best or even if we do well, I believe we'll win the gold medal Ross declared on NBC Boston. So I'm going to take some luck also. Ross was born on the 22nd of October, 1982. She was raised in Costa Mesa California where she lived with her parents and her sister. Ross competed in many sports during her time at Newport Harbor High School. Her pre-athletic career comprised indoor volleyball, as well as basketball as well as track and running. But she stood out during this game. Her college biography states that she played outside of the hitter middle blocker and setter in her volleyball playing career during high school. In recognition of her accomplishments she was awarded the Gatorade Award for the National Player of 1999. In addition, she was awarded the 1999 Orange County Athlete of the Year trophy for volleyball. Ross and Klineman are performing their roles from the year 2017. But, Ross played a significant role on the beach volleyball circuit before joining the duo. The fact is, she's won multiple big tournaments and one of them was a volleyball superstar. For six years from 2007-2013 she played with Jennifer Kessy who more recently played the role of Klineman's coach. Kessy as well as Ross proved to be an impressive force on the international arena, taking home the 2009 World Championship with each other. They went through to take home a silver medal at the 2012 Olympic Games at London. Misty Maytreanor (Jennings) and Misty Maytreanor won gold, beating them to it. Ross Jennings was May-Treanor's replacement when she retired. They went on to compete for the bronze medal in beach volleyball in the Rio Olympics 2016 with Walsh Jennings. Ross started her college career with the USC Trojans following graduation from high school. The Trojans were a few years away from when Ross made her debut on the beach and became a professional. Her time in the Trojans' ranks was one to remember. In her first year at the school, 2000 earned her the Pac-10 as well as NCAA Freshman of the Award and also be named an All-American. She also helped her Trojans to reach the Final Four. After her sophomore year, she experienced a terrible personal loss and still earned the distinction of being an All-American. Over her final 2 years of participation in the Trojans program, she coached the Trojans to winning a national title every time. The achievements of each individual have established her place as a legendary volleyball player. Ross was awarded the Honda Sports Award 2003-04 for the best female college player. Ross had been an international studies student at USC. Unfortunately Ross mom Margie never got to see Ross rise to the very top of beach volleyball superstardom. In 2001 when Ross was a sophomore in USC her mother passed away due to breast cancer. However, she continues to hold her lost parent near and dear. And Margie remains a source of motivation for her at the beach and in her daily life.
